Abstrak

ABSTRAK: Sebelum penelitian tindakan kelas dilaksanakan, prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas V SD 5 Dersalam pada materi kubus dan balok terhitung kurang. Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor : model pembelajaran masih konvensional, di mana siswa hanya menghafal dan mengingat konsep tanpa ada pengalaman belajar dalam menemukan konsep itu. Berdasarkan keadaan ini, penelitian tindakan kelas dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah pembelajaran matematika dengan metode Guided Discovery Learning berbantuan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas V SD N 5 Dersalam pada materi Volum Kubus dan Balok. Metode Guided Discovery Learning berbantuan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa adalah sebuah metode mengajar yang mengatur pengajaran sedemikian rupa sehingga siswa memperoleh pengetahuan yang sebelumnya belum diketahui melalui penemuan yang dibimbing oleh guru dengan pertanyaan yang efektif dan dengan bantuan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa untuk memancing siswa agar terus belajar dan termotivasi untuk menemukan jawaban. Penelitian ini terdiri atas dua siklus dengan mengambil data melalui pengamatan dan tes. Rata-rata skor tes prestasi belajar matematika siswa meningkat di setiap siklus. Pada siklus pertama rata-rata tes prestasi belajar matematika siswa adalah 67,33 meningkat menjadi 74,39 pada siklus kedua. Skor rata-rata aktivitas belajar siswa meningkat dari 2,46 pada siklus pertama menjadi 3,13 pada siklus kedua. Sedangkan skor rata-rata pengelolaan pembelajaran guru meningkat dari 2,64 pada siklus pertama menjadi 2,68 pada siklus kedua. Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Guided Discovery Learning berbantuan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas V SD Negeri 5 Dersalam. ABSTRACT: Before this class actions research was conducted, the math school performance of grade V students of SDN 5 Dersalam at the materials of cubes and blocks was low. This condition was caused by the model of learning was still conventional, in which the students simply memorized and recalled the concept without any learning experience in discovering the concept. Based on this fact, this class action research was carried out. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the teaching of mathematics by the method of Guided Discovery Learning assisted by Student’s Activity Sheets can improve the achievement of the grade V students of SDN 5 Dersalam in studying mathematics on the material of the volumes of cubes and blocks. Guided Discovery Learning Method-assisted by Students’ Activity Sheets is a set of teaching method so that students can acquire new knowledge through the discovery, guided by the teacher with effective questions and with thehelp of Students’ Activity Sheets to stimulate students to continue learning and are motivated to find the answers. This research consists of two cycles, by taking thedata through observation and tests. Average test scores of students achievement in studying mathematics increased in each cycle. In the first cycle, the average student achievement in learning mathematics was 67.33 rising to 74.39 in the second cycle. Average score ofstudents' learning activity increased from 2.46 in the first cycle to 3.13 in the second cycle. While the average score of teachers'teaching and learning management increased from 2.64 in the first cycle to 2.68 in the second cycle. Based on these results, it can be concluded that this method of Guided Discovery Learning assisted by Students’ Activity Sheets can improve students' mathematics learning achievement of grade V students of SDN 5 Dersalam.
