Abstrak

Language is an important aspect or thing that is used as a communication or as a media of communication between people around the world. Language including English is not always used in terms of education but language is also used in communication and other aspects. Speaking is the primary competency for effective communication. The most crucial component or element in communication for students is speaking ability. Students might not be able to interact with others if they can't speak. This research aim to find out whether there is any significant effect of using role play to improve students'' speaking skills of the student class XII SMKN 1 KUDUS. The research used the formula of SPSS statistics. To calculate data based on the student's responses that were related to the test. In this chapter, the researcher presents a Concept and Theory, This research is quantitative. The study used a quasy experimental. There were 35 students in the class. The pre-test standard deviation was 3.60, while the post-test standard deviation was 3.30. The mean pre-test score was 75.11, and the mean post-test score was 92.37. Additionally, the post-test standard error mean is 0.55 whereas the pretest's is 0.60. The results of the Paired Samples T-Test show a significant number between the pretest and post-test values with a significance value (2-tailed) p 0.000 0.05 (see table). The null hypothesis (H0) in this study was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted which shows that there is any significant effect of using role play to improve students speaking skills of the student class XII SMKN 1 KUDUS. The ability to speak in class twelfth culinary class one SMKN 1 Kudus 2023/2024 by using conversations in the form of Role-Play with the theme of Offering help and responding, the average Pre-Test score is 75. After giving the treatment the mean result of the Post-Test is 92. The Use of Conversation in the Role-Play Technique There is a significant effect of using role play to improve students'' speaking skills in the student class XII SMKN 1 KUDUS 2023/2024.
